United States Navy Ships Island Numerals

CVN 73 - U.S.S. GEORGE WASHINGTON
The U.S. Navy replaced 130 25watt incandescent lamps with only 6 60watt
xenon metal halide lamps and Lumenyte fiber optics. The Navy determined an 88% energy savings.

Lumenyte has also provided fiber optic Island Numeral Illumination on the LHA 4 - U.S.S. NASSAU and will post photos of the installation here as soon as they become available.

Additional ships currently being outfitted with this technology include the LHD 5 - U.S.S. BATAAN and the LHD 2 - U.S.S. ESSEX.  These installations are scheduled for completion sometime in 2003 and will be posted here as soon as they are available.
