With several of these shows being held in Las Vegas during the end of 1997 and on into 1998 we felt it would be fun to point out a few of the Lumenyte installations around the city.

LUMENYTE fiber optics have been used up and down the Las Vegas strip, and in other gaming and theme environments around the world, for many years.

Harrah’s Hotel And Casino

Harrah’s Hotel and Casino was one of the first installations to employ Lumenyte’s patented L.E.F. (linear emitting fiber) optics-the only functional sidelight fiber optic available. The products were specified by the Elwyn Gee Group of Novato, California which designed the beautiful installations.

Inside the property, beautiful cove lighting applications on the top of pillars provide color-changing ambiance to the elevator lobby French Market, Club Cappuccino,
pit area and elsewhere.

The interior cove applications are controlled by one Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) which synchronizes the color changing from a selection of four custom colors-rose, light green, hot pink and blue.

In the La Playa area of the hotel/casino a wavy, glass block wall is striking, lit by LUMENTYLE L.E.F. fiber optics.

The exterior of Harrah’s also features extensive use of LUMENYTE fiber optic systems. LEF fiber provides overall exterior façade lighting on all four sides of the hotel. The well-known Jesters infront of the hotel are illuminated by STA-FLEX end light optical fiber.

Planters in the Jackson Square area of the hotel are also lit by LUMENYTE fiber, as are some handrails.

The Harrah’s installation offers wonderful examples of how Lumenyte Interntionl works with lighting designers, contractors and others involved in major projects.

Lumenyte has been involved with Harrah’s construction for over a year shipping as required in an ongoing manner, working with different interior and exterior contractors, and meeting specialized needs of the job.

New York, New York

Las Vegas outdoor applications of Lumenyte also include the already famous skyline of the recently completed New York, New York Hotel and Casino. While other lighting products were also used extensively, Lumenyte was the only fiber optic lighting system.

For those who know New York, Lumenyte products are prominent in the New Yorker, Century and Chrysler Buildings in the Casino’s skyline.

LUMENYTE linear emitting fiber and end light fiber are both used in window boxes along Las Vegas Blvd, and in window boxes inside the hotel adjacent to Central Park.

The New York, New York project involved several miles of end light fiber and a mile-and-a-half of linear emitting fiber, lit by hundreds of illuminators. Rocklight of Las Vegas was the original lighting designer for New York, New York  Ross DeAlessi did the upgraded design using StaFlex® Super L.E.F.™ .

LUMENYTE fiber optic lighting systems were chosen due to the product superiority, design flexibility, every conservation, and ease of maintenance. The illuminators are hidden, Hyatt easily accessible when a bulb need replacing, without inconviencecing hotel guests.

Lumenyte International fiber optic can also be found in installations at Las Vegas’ McCarraen Airport-in the new tram stations and as fluorescent replacements inside the terminal.
